The scholarship is open to all students who are:
Residents of Pennsylvania currently being educated under the Pennsylvania Home Education Law or Private Tutor Law
Graduating
Continuing their education through some type of learning beyond high school
How will the scholarships be awarded?
How will the scholarships be awarded?
There is first an essay judging process, from which a reduced pool of applicants are then forwarded to the Genasevich family who makes the final determination of the first and second place winners.
Once the winners have been determined, all applicants will be notified as to whether they placed in the contest.

The winners will be announced at the annual CHAP Convention.

How do I enter?
Complete the CHAP Scholarship Application Form.
This will include the following information:
- Applicant’s contact information, graduation date, location for learning beyond high school education, and major if applicable.
- A copy of your High School Transcript (from High School Program or from parents)
- One essay (approximately 1,000 words not to exceed 1,100) covering the applicant’s Christian Walk, Homeschool Career, and Future Plans.
- Click here to view the rubric used by judges for the essay.
- Please note that adjudication of the essay portion of the scholarship application is the first step in CHAP’s process of determining the winners. Therefore applicants are strongly advised to download the provided rubric for essay judging so they can properly prepare for that portion of the application package.
- At least two letters of recommendation (not to exceed three letters) from non-family members, not to exceed one page each. All together, recommendations should cover knowledge of the applicant’s personal character, academic work, community service, and Christian life.
Applications, letters, and essays become the property of CHAP. They will not be returned.
The CHAP Scholarship will be awarded based on the following criteria:
- Academics
- Activities
- Christian testimony
- Character
CHAP reserves the right to publish the scholarship winner’s name, photograph, and all or part of the winning essay in a press release and/or in any or all future CHAP publications.
