Different families have different reasons for homeschooling. By clarifying your reasons, your commitments before the Lord, and what you want for your children, you’ll have direction for the difficult days ahead. You’ll also be able to narrow some of your choices as you prepare to homeschool.
Many parents see homeschooling as an outworking of their call from God to bring up their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Homeschooling allows them to keep the gospel of Jesus Christ and the Word of God at the heart of their children’s education.
Some children need more of a challenge than they would receive in a traditional school setting. Others need more attention and a slower pace. Some families want subjects to be highly integrated with one another. Whatever your situation, homeschooling allows you to personalize your educational approach according to your family culture and to each child’s needs.
Many parents simply love spending time every day to educate their children. Homeschooling often gives families more time together and greater freedom with daily and weekly schedules.
